Robert Vande Merwe, Executive Director
Robert was hired as the Executive Director of IHCA in January 2001. He has an MBA from the University of Utah and an B.S. in Psychology and a Gerontology Certificate also from the University of Utah. He was an administrator of a skilled nursing facility in Eastern Idaho for four years where he served on the Board of Directors for IHCA and presented at the Convention. Robert also worked in assisted living for three years.

Monica Perry, RDN/LD, Education Coordinator
Monica joined IHCA in March 2014.  She graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in Foods & Nutrition. Her experience includes: working as a State Surveyor & Training Coordinator for the State of Idaho; a Corporate Dietitian for Western Healthcare; a Regional Dietitian for SunBridge Healthcare; and the Program Director & Instructor for the Idaho Nutrition & Foodservice Professional (aka Dietary Manager) Online Training Program.  In her spare time, she sits on multiple Boards and attempts to satisfy her passion for quilting.  Monica thrives when no two days are alike so has come to love the challenge of organizing multiple education & training events.

Grace Lazenby, Education Director
Grace joined IHCA in August 2022.  After studying at Ricks College and Brigham Young University studying Office Education, Medical Dietetics, and Clothing Design she eventually graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Business with an HR emphasis.  Her experience includes working as a Realtor, Property Clerk for the Ada County Assessor, Retail Manager, Executive Assistant and Employment Trainer for Deseret Industries, and Event Coordinator and Admin Assistant for Boise State University, Idaho State University, and Idaho Primary Care Association (now ICHCA). Grace was also a foster parent and provided care to more than 45 children over eleven years. Grace loves the outdoors, camping, hiking, and kayaking and spending time with her 4 children and 15 grandchildren. She also loves DIY projects and working in her garden. Grace thrives on organization and making details come together. She defines a good day as one where she can make a positive difference in the life of someone else.

Dana Leavitt, Director of Member Services
Dana joined IHCA in October 2021. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in International Relations. She’s worked as an Apprenticeship Coordinator for the Department of Labor’s Apprenticeship program and as a Grant Coordinator for the Department of Health and Welfare’s CNA Caregiver Grant.  She worked in the Home Care Industry for Assisting Hands as a Community Liaison in Boise and in the office in Fruitland.  Before that, Dana worked in the gun industry, owned, and managed a Saddle and Tack store with her husband and worked in the Office of Legislative Affairs at the State Department in Washington DC.  Dana loves the outdoors, spending time with her husband, four kids and dog and reading.  She also loves all plants but has a succulent addiction.
