2020 – Life Safety Considerations During the Management of COVID-19 WEBINAR

    This remote presentation will give the audience the opportunity to hear common issues with Life Safety Code compliance during the management of an infectious disease outbreak as well as learn potential solutions to help ensure a safe and compliant environment of care.  This webinar will also address LSC requirements, the1135 Blanket Waiver and strategies to address future “survey success.”

    Topics Include (but not limited to):

     Emergency Operations Plan Modifications / Additions
     Inspection, Testing & Maintenance of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems
     Alcohol-Based Hand Rub Solution- Utilization & Storage
     Storage Practices- Change of Use

     Isolation Areas- Temporary Barriers
     Open Forum

    Follow-up Service: Following the completion of the presentation, Fire and Life-Safety Inc (Stan Szpytek) will take individual calls from participants until August 15, 2020 to provide one-on-one consultative assistance.

    Stan Szpytek is the president of Fire and Life Safety, Inc. (FLS) based out of Mesa, Arizona. FLS is a consulting firm that provides life safety compliance and emergency preparedness programs for businesses of all types with a strong focus on health care and senior services on a nationwide basis. Stan is a retired deputy fire chief and fire marshal with a Chicago area fire department having served with the agency for 26 years. He is also the Life Safety / Disaster Planning Consultant for the Arizona Health Care Association (AzHCA) and the California Association of Health Facilities (CAHF).

  • Fee

    • $49/person

    1.5 CEUs possible.  Education offered by IHCA may also be sufficient for other license types (i.e. social work, certified dietary manager, etc.) as long as the learning objectives and educational levels of the presenter(s) meet the licensure requirements. It is up to each attendee to determine the appropriateness of a session and whether it will meet the requirements of their license type.
