  • Certification Requirements

    Those wishing to take the Wound Care Certified (WCC) certification exam upon completion of the course must meet the following criteria:

    1. Active unrestricted license in one of the following professions:

    > MD, DO, DPM
    > RN, NP, PA
    > LPN / LVN
    > OTA, OT, PT, PTA

    2. Active involvement in the care or management of wound care patients, in wound care education or research for 2 years full-time or 4 years part-time within the past 5 years.

    3. Completed an NAWCO approved wound management certification training course.

    This course offers an evidence-based approach to wound management to help clinicians stay current with the standards of care and legally defensible at bedside. The Wound Care Education Institute (WCEI) provides dynamic instructors who use engaging teaching methods proven to help students learn better and retain new material.

    Exam application fee $380 per student and must be submitted directly to National Alliance Wound Care and Ostomy.
